The High Autonomy, High Demand Job

The demand control model was developed by psychologist Robert Carisac in 1979. It analyzes work across two dimensions, psychological demand and control over one's work or autonomy. A job with high psychological demand and high autonomy fosters the most motivation and learning. But jobs with high autonomy and low psychological demand are easy to maintain but ultimately unfulfilling.
