There was this really deep desire, by two thousand 11, i think, especially watching what was going on around the world, a deep desire on the left to take some sort of major action in response to the economic crisis. The tea party moved in and took advantage of scapegoting underwater home orders, getting bailed out for the crisis, even though such a bail out never happened. And it's not tootally wrong to describe the tea party as an astraturf group. But, you know, following the sociologist thay o scotch pole, i think you can make a case that it was a real grass soots movement too.
