The Relationship Between Amazon and Walmart

In the early years of Amazon, I think there was a lot of respect for what Walmart had built. Jeff Bezos and his team did borrow beyond hiring some Walmart executives in the early days. They also did borrow some sort of company values or what Amazon calls the leadership principle. One stands apart from other Silicon Valley tech companies in that there are no luxurious free lunches on campus.
