The Origins of Ivan the Great
Ivan III was one of the first Russian rulers who invited a lot of foreigners in his court. In correspondence he sometimes claimed to be of Saxon descent, or Bavarian descent and so would also claim some sort of Germanic heritage. And it is quite interesting, he was very creative in building the ideology but yes he was the first Russian ruler to invite a lot of western specialists to build up Moscow.
