Is There a Black Hole in the Universe?

We don't really know what a black hole is in the actual universe. We have this concept in general relativity that if you get enough stuff together, its gravity will overcome any sort of internal strength. So strong that we think that it curves space so much that light cannot even escape it. If these things are real, if they're out there in the universe, then whatever falls into them would never be seen again.
