The Infinite Is Mixed With the Content of Experience

The infinite becomes, or seems to become the finitethe eternal appears as time. Peace is obscured by sorrow, love by conflict. So let me try to relate this to the perennial, nondual philosophy that underlies and is expressed, to a greater or lesser extent, in all the world's great religious and spiritual traditions. I said at the beginning that i would give two definitions of consciousness, or rather, one evocation and one definition, to evoke the recognition of consciousness within us. I suggested that consciousness is that which knows or is aware of our experience. But its awareness of itself is, in most cases, so so thoroughly mixed with the content of experience that it ceases to know
