George Casa De ran a series of articles in the Washington Post called The Man in the Green Hat. He was arrested again in early 1930 and given a couple of months in prison, but he agreed to stop bootlegging and instead became a writer. His expose fell short of naming names, even as he revealed their drinking habits. But it wasn't just bootleggers and government officials finding loopholes and workarounds: Even religious figures got in on the act.
