The Importance of Value Neutrality in Morality

The best we can do is a value neutral, non-paternalistic arrangement in which people do whatever they want. And that enables the few to pursue spiritual goods and achieve salvation. We don't really want a regime in which the common good is just to protect people's ability to pursue spiritual or higher Goods. The moral virtues form the soul and they dispose the soul to make it capable of rising to the contemplation of the highest truths.
