Upper Gi Tract Bleed - What You Need to Know
When you're approaching a patient who is bleeding from the g i tract, it's important to consider two things one, the rairway, obviously. And two, where the bleeding is coming from. The vast majority of gi bleeds are upper so when in doubt, suspect upper. Bright red blood does not mean it can never be an upper gi bleed. 60 % or so of previous gi bleeders can re bleed from the same lesion.
