The last few elections in America have been wild and often hard to predict confidence in October doesn't always mean victory in November. Back in October 2018, Democrats and Republicans both felt pretty good about their respective chances in the House and Senate. So we're going to find out in the next four weeks how these tales of surging Republican momentum will age. But broadly speaking, it is worth remembering that this entire midterm cycle has been an unorthodox rollercoaster from Donald Trump's continued presence after his election loss to generationally high inflation.
