If you believe, as fanon and others have written, if you believe that what the colonizer is telling you is what is real about you, you will have no dignity. You have to understand who you are to stand straight and confront the colonizer. And everybody has a history with dignity in it. That's what arming is about. The strategy is to stand upright?
