Caesar's Decision to Cross the Rubicon Marks the End of the Republic and the Beginning of the Imperium

Pompey ordered an immediate withdrawal of the city. He would take his legions and anyone else who cared to come with him to Brindisium, from there they would sail for Greece. Caesar could have Rome for now, but Pompey would gather a massive army in Greece and then return to Italy to crush the upstart.
