Scientists have been searching for earth like life on other planets. But what kind of alternatives to water could sustain life? Well this is a great question, because for decades, nassa's mission statement has been, follow the water. Other solvents can do the same thing but are not as good at staying in liquid form. The best way we find any chemical anywhere is to go to that place and stick it through some scientific instruments.
