The Effects of Antibiotics on the Microbiome

The microbiome is a community of microorganisms that inhabit and cover all external facing parts of our body. The inside of our intestines are actually outside of our body because they're so small, we don't see them. When we take an antibiotic, every single one of these microbes, these 38 trillion, there's going to be the possibility of susceptibility to this antibiotic. Any microbe that is susceptible to this antibiotic potentially is going to be killed.
