"I don't think there's enough room for error in these questions or this size of a poll that it would change a conclusion," he says. "It might be off to a few percent, but it wouldn't change the conclusion that things are bad." A national poll is only 1,000 people; statistically, that's all you need,. That's actually plenty. There are lots of polls that are way less than 1,000 and they're still statistically useful.
