The Story of Jim Lynn
When he was a teenager, maybe 15 or 16, Jim left the house. He didn't see his father again for many years after that. Out of the house, as a junior in high school, Jim needed money. So he took an job at the hospital in Richmond where he first saw the condition of African-Americans manifested as a social issue. His small town didn't have enough blacks for him to think of it beyond the context of individuals.
