The Role of Off-Gem in the Regulation of British Gas
The changes we're proposing to the windfall tax would have a significant effect on centrica, Shell and EDF. I think there are real questions about the decisions made by the regulator here. What is the right level of profit for these companies to be making in normal times? So what off-gem have said, companies are allowed to make loads of cash because that makes them stronger companies. And that's a bad idea.
