Afro Futurists and Techno in the Nineties
techno's founders were inspired by black actors, writers and musicians. This artistic movement became known as afro futurism. Afro futuris doesn't just challenge racial stereotypes but confronts the alienation and struggle of black people's histories. It encourages us to imagine the world differently. Talking to people in detroit reminded me that the answers are out there. Already in berlin too, activists, musicians and promoters have always been challenging white ess.
