I always feel like that's when it's the most dangerous for a for any kind of minority is when the person who holds the power doesn't believe that they do. That's when they can just lash out in any direction feeling like they're justified because they're protecting themselves. The more we understand coercion and control particularly in religious spaces, the more we think he talked about just having his experience being validated was so helpful in the early stages.
