material science and materials engineering is a small discipline. Why? People just sort of assume, there's this presumption that the right material is just there,. If you just, like, look hard enough, you'll find it. But at its heart, some of these more artisan disciplines who are doing materials, they're making materials. The biggest difference is understanding the we call it the structure property processing relationships. We know mechanistically, like from what's going at the atoms or the crystal structure or at the grain level. In fact, we zomomly talk about lattice motifs now where it might be connected in different ways. That's really exciting.
