Translating Aging

CHAPTER

How Long Does It Take to Aging?

There have been a number of experiments done where investigators genetically engineer mice by adding an removing genes that cause to become long lived. So you can actually create mice that age slowly. What are the advantages of looking at this slow aging process in the natural contact, verses some of these more engineered contacts? I think we've learnt a lot from ice, and we've learnt how we can manipulate aging or health span to some extent but nowhere near the extent that you could by looking at species that have already modified their biology over millions of years.
