Ketamine and the Effect of Bolus Dose on Induction
The real question is what are you using your ketamine for? I would make the argument that if it's for analgesia specifically I'm not convinced at least at this point that that bolus dose gives you greater efficacy. One area where it was studied for a long time was in delirium and so there's a landmark article from 2017 The Lancet article suggested although we had hoped that a bolus dose of ketamine might actually improve things like delirium postoperatively They did not find that to be the ultimate conclusion.
