How Does a Covalent Triazine Framework Work?

A South Korean team has created a filtration system that is capable of removing more than 99.9% of not only microplastics, but all pollutants from the water. How does it do this? The trick is a material known as a covalent triazine framework or CTF for short. It can convert sunlight into heat, then release steam that purifies an airborne pollutant known as volatile organic compounds or VOCs.
