Wellington Is Impacted by Coca-Coated Earthquakes

The Quora earthquake in particular damaged a number of buildings in our city. Many – a number of those have had to be demolished and there's now rebuilding programs under way. I think more particularly, Quora forced a reconsideration of the policy settings for building strengthening and design. And that's seen some buildings which previously were not thought to be earthquake prone, to be declared earthquake prone. That's requiring a systematic investment by property owners and by our council to remediate those buildings and get them back on stream. We've got some geographical challenges in relation to building large numbers of further housing with intensification plans in place but we do have some geographical constraints.
