4chan is the most popular and well known of the chans. But there's actually, I know at least like three, right, there's 4chan, 8chan, what was there's, you mentioned another one in the article? There's a whole bunch of them. And yeah, it does serve a classic ecological function. These are the fringes where new ventures come. This is where the conventional wisdom no longer applies. Anything goes, there are no limits, no sense of propriety. It just cut loose. You can't hardly find anything on the internet without lol cat or some other meme like that.
