The Use of the Present Simple in English
The UK is set to leave the EU on the 31st of October. The government has insisted it will not negotiate a further delay beyond the Halloween deadline. In one particular situation we're using the present simple which you don't use so often to describe some future event. And that's quite interesting because usually when we're talking about the future we will use going to or we'll use the present continues.
