Can Technology Be Used to Identify Fish in the Water?
A lot of that is just a function of policy. They went from a day's at sea regulation, at how many days any boat or searching for any particular species could fish to an annual catch limit. That has really restricted the amount of fish that are being caught. For instance, codfish, which are in decline right now, so there's very little quota. So fishermen that are targeting haddock have to be careful not to catch cod, because they don't have the quota for it. And that hasrestricted the amount of haddock they are catching. It means that m they're leaving a lot of good fish in the water,. but it's been good for the fish
