Rarr says she was depressed when someone first suggested it to her. She would have had to wait for necrotic skin to naturally fall off with other treatments. But they just happened to be a batch of them in the hospital because somebody had needed them that morning and they'd been ordered. They were almost like strands of cotton and they were put on and then this sort of tea bag thing put over my foot. And it was all done and dusted. Then I was picked up by my husband and guess what I've got on my foot. Normally he's used to me bringing stray animals home, but not a leg full of maggots.
