Kant's Project: The Metaphysics of Knowledge
For Kant, there needs to be an experiential basis. This current then is arguably within all the other currents and isn't necessarily something Kant is in conversation with as much as something that really he's creating. A lot of people sort of confuse Kant with an investigation into how the mind works or something like that. This is an investigation of experience itself of metaphysics. The dominant philosophy prior to Kant within Europe, at least, was that of Christian wolf.
