A court in Jakarta ruled for the plaintiffs saying that indeed those officials had committed unlawful acts by failing to combat smog. The government says it has taken recent steps to improve air quality, for example, by installing solar panels on government buildings. We'll have to wait and see what the longer term impact of this court ruling will be.
