The Four Ways of Alchemy
A lot of gergeff's language could be considered to be in the alchemical tradition, because it's spiritual and western and chemical all at the same time. The basic alchemical principle of separating and recombining is at work in a lot of gurgiff's thinking. You're going to show up assuming socially that you are an individual, but you aren't. But once you've separated them, then you have the capacity for them to interact in new ways. And so i'm thinking of tonte these daysas as the practice of alchemy.
