Comedian Justin Timberlake says there are four great motives for writing. One of them is sheer egoism, another is aesthetic enthusiasm and the third is historical impulse. The final one is a desire to expose some lie that you want to expose. He also said he was inspired by Orwell's quote about "every joke being a tiny revolution"
