The Importance of Leisure
LZ Granderson: Leisure is only available to a man who is at one with himself and at one with the world. He says that in order for us to take the time to be willing to contemplate reality, we must have confidence that reality is good. LZ: What happens if our education system is defined either by utilitarianism or now we don't even really have that? We have an education system being defined by sort of various Marxist ideological goals. And I suppose as well, you know, this is why if you present these opportunities to people, they're actually experienced as sort of painful or odd or weird because those muscles, soulful muscles have not been exercised in this regard
