With lower discount rates of the past year, it makes sense that spreads would compress. It also makes sense that the late stage is catching up more quickly than the earlier stage. At the later stages, there's a clearer picture of who will win and a clearer line of sight into what the winner's cash flows might be. The higher the valuations of the biggest tech companies, the higher potential valuation of any start up.
