How Does Singuivery Come About?

We know that the evolution of sanguivery of himato pagi goes back as far as the paleozoic in animals, if not farther. There are a few different venues that have been hypothesized for how arthropods evolve to be blood eaters. One avenue is that they may have started out feeding on other parts of vertebrate animals. So there are lots of bugs to day that will feed on dung, skin, hair, feathers. This puts them in close proximity with vertebrates, many in prime situation for them to transitionin blood eating.
