Lecun was working at Bell Labs at the time. He worked with Larry Jackal and a bunch of other Sarasawia engineers. They were designing chips that could do these things. And so they, there was a whole group of people at Caltech and at home down who realized that we could speak things a little bit further by special purpose hardware.
