Lichens, Like All Living Organisms, Play Meaningful Roles

Author: We fail to recognize the inherent value of really any organism, human beings included. In terms of doing it in economic terms, i think we really have to move beyond capitalism. If we're not able to do that during the next three, 400 years, as the climate changes,  we could end up in a period that's much more totalitarian than we are now.
