It's been said that creating a level playing field for companies isn't necessarily the main purpose of regulation. Rather higher policy objectives could be more important for example financial stability. So can you explain how regulation would work in this regard and whether regulatory asymmetries can be justified in some cases? Yeah thank you Ellen this is definitely a very important question. It really depends also on the policy area you're looking at whether you need entity based or activity based requirements. But I would say as long as this is compatible with overarching policy priorities such as financial stability.
