The Future of the Liberal Arts
i wanted to talk maybe briefly about the liberal arts. Obviously, there's a very sort of idealict byt going to college for your four yearsn and studying the arts. There's a new proposal i've heard from some one at work with a david parrel who has written aboutis actually getting ready to publish a piece on the future of the liberal arts in America. He views it like this: even if you're studying something that is purely liberal arts, like philosophy, generally we say to people in society, ok, the time to study philosophy is between 22 and 30. But otherwise, for most people, that's kind of wenie. That's when the window closes
