Organised Crime

The people that are most powerful in these rackets, you know, especially the organize criminals, have state protection. And this is something that's been going on for a very long time. For example, one early example i give in the book is e thomas dewey am, who was eventually governor of new york and was a contender for us President at one point. But he also became famous as a prosecutor of organized crime. He later becomes a business partner of the mob himself.
