The Limit of Intuition
In the future, we will build computers that pass the touring test with flying colors. But unless we fully understand how consciousness emerges, we won't know whether they're conscious. Whether or not they are conscious is hugely important, ethically speaking. It would be monstrous to create computers that could suffer.
