Opium Head San Martin Was an Opium Addect

Nobody had ever marched an army through this stretch of the and it was some of the steepest and roughest country in the whole great range. There were a lot of sceptics out there, even among his close allies, about whether or not this thing could actually be pulled off. But san martin was convinced that it could be done. And he was possibly aided by a small fact that i have not yet told you about jose de san martin, he was an opium addect. He suffered from rheumatism and frequent bouts of stomach pain, and his doctors prescribed laudanum, which is basically liquid opium, as a pain killer.
