I was always told in college, in high school, all the time, that if you're a writer, you will never make money and you just have to be at peace with that. And I never like really questioned that until sub stack came around. You can be very entrepreneurial as a writer, is just if you've never been exposed to it, you don't know how. It's also the idea of not being tied to your identity, or tied to an identity of this specific person does this specific thing. If you're surrounding yourself with one type of person, then you end up believing one type of thing, and you don't see the other side.
