The Role of Chinese Firms in Direct Investment in the Region
One of the main drivers of sovereign lending by China's development finance institutions has been to help Chinese firms get a foothold in the region. Argentina is such an interesting case, because ahead of the Olympics, they went to our Olympics in Beijing. We saw President Fernandez meet with President Xi Jinping. And there they struck a very large sort of deal, right, or at least an indication of deals to come. But since then we haven't seen a lot of movement and we're planning to actually put those deals in our report. So it's worth asking why do you think that is?
