Yale College - A Life Experience That Made Me Commit to a Purposeful Life
Sally Kohn: I went from Sidwell Friends School, which despite this, the positive influence of the values of community and tolerance and service was profoundly privileged. In my class of 96 people, 16 of us went to Yale College, half of us go to Ivy League schools. So that was one thing that was really important to Yale. And you know what New Haven is like, it is one of the poor cities in the country. She says she did a lot of volunteer work with elementary school kids and some mentoring and big brothering before returning to D.C., where she worked as an outreach counselor for teenagers.
