The Supreme Court's Decision in the Case of the Independent State Legislators
Former acting solicitor general Neil Cottial won the case on behalf of voting rights group Common Cause. He says it's important because GOP was pressing a legal theory that said state legislatures can do whatever they want. And so today in the six to three decision written by the Chief Justice, they resoundingly through that argument, out and said this independent state legislature theory has no purchase.
