Is it always a goal that we should be trying to progress and surely there can't be endless gains in the weight room for the recreational runner? Yeah it's a really good question that and it's obviously the area in terms of the scientific literature which is always going to be lacking. It's really very difficult to take reasonably sized groups of participants through a training intervention which is lasting much more than three months.
