Why Does Evil Happen to Good People?

i think one of the reasons why i bring this up, it's because we talk a lot about t problem of evil. We often put it in terms like, why do bad things happen to good people? A lot of times, if we just look at it, the assumption that's in this question is good people. And im finding that this is a pretty common move to make here, at least by professionals in the field. So i think that the real question here is, why does god allow evil? And that's the more broad a question than "Why don't you believe in God?"
