As you go up in intensity it's not like all of a sudden now you're only using your your two axes and continue to recruit all your muscle fibers as you go up through intensity. The optimal point of clearance when your body isreally clearing that lactate and improving that system is at 95 percent of your lactate threshold so it's sub threshold of what people think of a sweet spot work, says Dr Syler.
