The Wet Steps of the Tunnel

The sound of my wet footsteps had me praying I wasn't heading towards the source of the leak. After another few hundred yards, the tunnel began to illuminate something that just sent my stomach into knots. The only other thing was the worry that the gap would somehow narrow even further and then I might get stuck trying to get through. Fighter flight kicked in and in the moment I chose flight, shoving myself shoulder-first into the narrow opening in the concrete before grinding his way through.
